"But now I see you, O builder!
And never again shall you build my house.
I have snapped the rafters,
split the ridgepole
and beaten out desire.
And now my mind is free."
There are not fish in the lake.
The long-legged cranes stand in the water.
Dhammapada: 153-154.
Whoever takes a stick
to beings desiring ease,
when he himself is looking for ease,
will meet with no ease after death.
Whoever doesn't take a stick
to beings desiring ease,
when he himself is looking for ease,
will meet with ease after death.
Udana II, 3
.... I will survive. But I shall not shine.
When I would not shine, the sunlight that brightens my room was of waste. What good would light be if I could not be part of it? I took the light beam in my hand and stared at it. So full of hope and life, I thought. Sad that it could not be mine. For I knew Love was within me and light belonged to the Almighty. Truly indeed what pity for Light to not return to its creator. I sighed. Time slipped by. I have to sleep once again. My cheeks wet as always, as I laid myself down to anticipate another battle that would soon overwhelm me. Such is life so endless.

The past should not be followed after
and the future not desired;
what is past is dead and gone
and the future is yet to come.
